Artist Brush in association with Blue Ivy Gallery and Herbert Evans Fourways presents art classes, workshops, holiday clubs and weekend retreats by professional artist Franci du Plessis.

She beleives that art is not just a talent but a technique and any person can become a great artist. We have a relaxed environment where the student have the ability to broaden their art career and expand their imagination. The teaching principles is based on activating the right-side of the brain thus creating great success. Prospective students are accommodated for all levels starting any time of the year. Franci started her art career 18 years ago with the well known artist Denzil Herring. She excelled in all mediums and quickly made a career in art and teaching art. After a successfully teaching career she relocated from Tzaneen where she had an art studio and trained various new artist and commissioned several masterpieces. She believes art is not necessary a talent but a technique. Working with different types of people, each student turned out to be a great artist. It is important to her that no person has the right to tell a learner that he or she does not have talent. If you work hard on something, any talent is achievable. Her unique style of teaching art has made her a popular and loved teacher, starting quite a few students on a career in the arts and several engineering qualifications at various universities in South Africa. Her passion is still taking on commissions of various styles of painting and drawings. She has been involved with various judging of art competitions and served on the board for Eisteddfods on school level. The studio has a yearly art exhibition to attract new artist and invite friends, families and investors to observe the extraordinary talent of the students. She is known for the way she develops each individual student's style technique. It is important to her that the student's study her style but develop their own technique.
